Vintage Ferrari Parts Cross References
Home
All manufacturers, to a greater or lesser extent, dove into the worlds parts bins - Ferrari was no exception. This makes sense, as it was certainly cheaper than tooling up for a run of only a few thousand parts. Over time, information on what parts were used on both Ferrari and other marques has appeared in print and on the web, but it has been rather scattered.
The intent here is to either identify the exact Ferrari part which was actually used by a more numerous marque such as Fiat, Alfa, or Jaguar, or to identify modern equivalents which in some cases work better than the original. Both options can save an owner money while giving equivalent or better performance
This page is not intended to take bread off the table of any in the small community of Ferrari parts suppliers. On the contrary, if more folks see it is possible to keep these cars on the road we will have fewer rust into oblivion. And if we keep a greater number of these older cars on the road and in top shape, we all benefit.
A big thank you to B.J Kroppe, for permission to adapt his Jaguar Parts Interchange Page.
Any and all contributions are welcome! Send them to Me, Jon Brent, and I'll add them here. Major contributors are identified at the bottom of the page.

| Comment: | When replacing the bowl, remove the old gasket completely. This will allow a National #225 O-Ring (1/8 x 1 7/8 x 2 1/8 inch) to fit snuggly enough that it won't fall out. The O-Ring will seal much better and keep the filter assembly dry. | |||

| Distributor and Coils | Lancia Beta | Unknown if earlier than 308GT4 | xxx | Peter Rychel (Ferrari List 11/02) |
| Comment: | Q: When did Ferrari switch to electronic ignition? A: From the looks of it in my 308 GT4 P.C., it was '78 that used the Magneti Marelli SM series distributor and AEI series coil. In fact, the coil is AEI 200A, the same used in various Lancia Beta models, so the control unit is at least, still avaliable from places like Bayless Int'l and International-Auto. p.s. This is the single distributor, twin-coil set-up. |

Disclaimer: As always, you must always check the cross-reference yourself, and inspect that part carefully before installing (always good advice). The usual disclaimers apply, that is, use your own judgement: you take the responsibility and consequences from usage of these parts. If you don't want to use your own judgement, get the exact original part from the dealer. Or, have the dealer or qualified mechanic do the entire repair for you.
If you discover bad data here, please notify me. Where the table specifies one series (330GT 2+2 Series 2, or GTE, for example) the application may extend to other series, it's just not been checked. The source of the data is named and a quote, if any, is given. In some cases there are numerous data sources, I'll show the one that came to my attention first, or the one who had the best description of the process to convert the part or commentary on performance. Or the most interesting or humorous quote.
